It’s been 5 years since the last P.T. Anderson movie – There Will Be Blood – and so we were rather excited when we saw these trailers for the director’s latest endeavor with The Master. The movie has a great cast that includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams, which that alone has sold us on this movie.

Angelina Jolie will be playing the role of Maleficent, Disney’s Sleeping Beauty villain, in a new movie opening up in March of 2013. We present to you the first official image of Jolie from Maleficent as presented by Disney . She is looking mighty wicked in the black horned headpiece in this image! Crescent House by Shigeru Ban Architects

Located in an area of villas in Shizuoka, Japan is this interesting creation by Shigeru Ban Architects. Dubbed the Crescent House, the name stems from its clearly visible crescent C-shape. The two-bedroom house is streamline with all rooms lining up perfectly within this uniquely shaped home. Each bedroom sits at opposite ends with a living room, dining area and kitchen nestled in nicely. The entrance of the house sits underneath and it features stairs leading up to the main floor kind of giving a feel of entering a space craft. Pretty cool stuff!

Foot Patrol x Asics Gel Saga

Foot Patrol is the latest collaborator with Asics as the two join forces to present this Gel Saga sneaker. These come in a very unique light brown color comprised out of rich suede making these look mighty tasty. The outer Asics striping somes in a contrasting blue color, while the inner branding comes in grey for a little flavor. The shoes also feature cream color laces and a matching midsole. Look for these to drop around September/October. (via onemesh)

Carri Munden and company have just released this video for Spring/Summer 2013 called ‘Blood Rites.’ It’s pretty graphic and if razor blades and incisions made by them make you squeamish, you might not dig the video. Check out what Munden says about the clip (via ASVOF):

This video is part of a month long residency at Weltkuren Museum exploring male initiation rituals. Sepik River scarfication in Papua New Guinea, Kayapo body art in Amazonia and UK teen rites – football, boxing and tattooing. I was particulary interested in the Sepik River – especiallythe relationship between the initiated boys and their maternal uncle (not father) who supports them throughout the painful ceremony. As in Kayapo culture it is this maternal uncle who also teaches the boys the skills and knowledge they need to make the transistion from boy to man. When I looked at UK culture I found no such traditions and when I spoke with male friends found that many struggled to think of a male role model when a teenager, only one of the 25 men I talked with said they saw their father or uncle as a role model. Instead they looked to sportsmen and muscians as inspirations of manhood.

Shepard Fairey’s OBEY clothing has worked with the Keith Haring Foundation on this extensive collection for Fall 2012. Haring was a big influence on Fairey, so this collaboration seems like a natural fit. A vast array of items make up the collection including tank tops, tees, a varsity jacket, an M-65 army jacket, raglan tees, fleece pants, crewnecks, hoodies, and accessories such as a beanie, cap, necklaces and pins. A large majority of pieces are for men, but there are some items for women, too. Check for the collection later this year.
